What Travelers Say

  • "Catalin is a wealth of information for anyone with Celiac disease who is traveling to Italy! She knows all the best restaurants (and the ones to avoid that you may have read about as safe!) She also offers great suggestions for areas to explore and museums to visit, as well as tips for off-the-beaten-path gems that don't have long lines. After speaking with Catalin, we feel so much more confident and comfortable about our upcoming trip and can't wait to safely explore Italy!"

    - Adrienne Markus

  • "Finding safe restaurants for our family is the hardest part of prepping for any trip with celiac, and Matt has made it so much easier for me. Not only did he give me so many great restaurant recommendations, he also talked me through the best grocery stores, food labeling laws, and even best transportation options and other questions about our trip as a whole. Could I have done a ton of work to figure it out myself? Sure, it's not my first time. Was it worth it to get Matt's help and save myself a ton of time and energy, and get advice from a local? No question. Worth every penny."

    - Candice Gustavson

  • "Catalin helped answer questions I had about Italy, provided some excellent recommendations and even helped make some reservations! This was one of the best experiences I've had, and make as a celiac feel safe about my travel . I highly recommend and will be using her team again for future travel!"

    - Joy Kummer

  • "Matt was so helpful in giving suggestions along our itinerary so that I can feel safe eating on our trip. He is knowledgeable but also took in to account the tastes of my whole group. I cannot recommend this business enough. I’m so glad I found it!"

    - Alison Sell

  • "Catalin was an absolute joy to speak with. She was prepared and knowledgeable and genuinely just a good person. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to have a meeting, a lot of my stress/anxiousness was alleviated after asking a local my questions. 100/10 would recommend this to anyone!!"

    - Julianne Surrette

  • "When I found Celiacs in Europe, my blood pressure must have dropped several points. After meeting with Matt, I totally relaxed about this trip. He was truly amazing in every way. He is responsive, prepared, thorough, knowledgeable, perceptive, and even adorable. I am beyond thrilled that I reached out to have a conference with him. He suggested several restaurants that I know we'll be happy with. He suggested one activity that we had not included in our plans. It will be a wonderful addition. I cannot recommend Matt highly enough. He is, simply, great."

    - Gai Klass

  • "I cannot thank Catalin enough for her exceptional guidance in planning our family trip to Italy this summer. I described to Catalin our general itinerary and she shared a curated list of AIC gluten free restaurants and bakeries, tailoring each suggestion based on when and where we will be during the day, what my teen boys love to eat, and her years of experience living gluten-free in Italy. She also gives lots of additional 'insider' tips like where we can find a GF grocery store to pick up simple things for breakfast in Venice and where to take a GF pasta-making class in Florence (we'll be there, Chef Vary!). Everything was summarized (with links) in a follow-up email. It can be very stressful to go on vacation and find yourself searching apps and making phone calls from your hotel room trying to figure out your next safe meal. After one call with Catalin, I felt reassured that our family will spend our time focused on David & the Duomo and not where to go for dinner. Grazie mille, Catalin!"

    - Randi Wolf

  • "I've travelled with celiac disease in my family for years - it is tough and sometimes intimidating! I've found that there's a lot of tips out there, but nothing compares to first-hand knowledge and expertise. I love how Celiacs in Europe offers the kind of support and guidance that empowers people to explore Europe with confidence—combining the freedom of adventure with the reassurance of safety."

    - Kyle Dine

  • "I would give Catalin 10 stars if I could. She really listened and met me where I was and worked with our unique needs."

    - Melissa Simon

Instead of spending hours online searching through blog posts and Facebook groups, you can rely on our expertise and firsthand experience. We’ve already done the research and vetted the best gluten-free dining options, so you can travel confidently and enjoy your trip without the worry of cross-contact or misinformation. During your consultation, you’ll have the consultant’s undivided attention for either a half-hour or full-hour session, where together you can address all your questions and concerns. The consultation is completely personalized, ensuring that you set off on your adventure with peace of mind and a plan tailored specifically to your needs.

  • Yes! While our focus is on the gluten-free side of travel, we’re happy to share advice on local attractions, transportation, and cultural tips to help round out your itinerary.

  • Absolutely! In fact, it can be helpful to consult with us early in your planning process so we can suggest gluten-free-friendly cities, regions, and experiences. Clients often book an Economy consultation first to get the general lay of the land, and then book a Business or First Class consultation closer to their trip to iron out the details.

  • When you book, you’ll be asked to fill out a short intake form so your consultant can learn more about your travel plans, preferences, and dietary needs. You’ll be able to view their availability and choose the time that works best for you. Right after booking, you’ll receive an email with your Google Meet link for the session. From there, your consultant will prepare for your call and meet you at the scheduled time. If something comes up, just let us know—otherwise, please plan to join on time. Consultants will wait up to 15 minutes before considering the session a no-show.
